How To Start Living a Toxin Free Life

My partner and I have spent the last 23 years raising our 2 sons and daughter on Vancouver Island, West coast, BC, CANADA. As parents and now a family of almost grown ups, we have been through many changes and makeovers with good intent at living our lives and raising our 3 kids in a perfect green paradise. We have tried out a wide variety of commitment levels and strategies in order to live our lives in a way that does not make the earth, ourselves and our children sick. There were times, when fear & despair took over the plans, but those days have gone and it is hope that drives my methods now. Every time we go shopping, we make so many choices and each one is now an opportunity to change the future of the earth. We now choose green non toxic consumer products for myself and my family and our home and land. Buying organic is easy these days and need not represent any hardship or sacrifice at all. There are millions of on-line green shopping websites these days, and there is a ready and extensive supply of organic everything & green anything to choose from. Organic clothes, organic bedding, toxin free diapers, organic food and health care products, toxin free biodegradable kitchen, laundry & bath cleaners; these green versions of our everyday purchases are right at our fingertips now. All we have to do now to make a big difference is make the green choice when it comes along. Look for it. Find It. Choose the green version of everything you buy.
Even though we had to put aside the big eco wars of the 80s & 90s, we have still, in the end, done quite a bit to contribute to the green revolution; just by choosing to purchase organic clothes & bedding,toxin free cleaning products, safe non toxic skin & hair care products and organic food. These days, there are thousands of small eco friendly companies making natural, organic household cleaning products and bath care products. Everything from vitamins to deodorant, shampoo and even makeup can now be found easily in stores or online. Organic diapers, toxin free baby bath products and green baby food are readily available. There is no reason to stop polluting if we continue to buy the usual toxic products; in order to actually make changes, you start by changing your choices. Consider getting together with a friend to go explore your town or the world wide web to see if you can find some new choices when purchasing food, laundry soap, car wash detergents, dish soap, dishwasher soap, toilet cleaners, kitchen cleaners, shampoo, hair dye, makeup, lotions, deodorant, baby care products FOR SURE and tooth paste. All of these typical household products are now available in a natural non toxic version in many stores, large and small. The big box grocery stores like Loblaws, Presidents Choice and Safeway NOW have in stock green alternatives to all those toxic products. Why Not give them a try, You have nothing to lose but the poisonous stae of your home & health. You will really happy with how fresh and clean you and your family feel about yourselves and your home. Once you go GREEN, there's no in between. |
